We are adamantly against preservatives and shelf stabilizers. This is Good news for your body!

Our bars are different. They are 100% fresh food, mostly nuts and seeds. We don’t bake or dehydrate, no heat at all is applied.

Shipping

It’s only $5.00 for a box, and it’s free on the sample pack and free for all cases.

Shipping cost between us $5.15 and $15.00. So we figure we will just take a loss when you are far away. It’s sad enough that you are so far away from us that we shouldn’t punish you more:).

We use US Priority Mail on all orders. If you need UPS please contact orders@thegoodonyabar.com for arrangements.

Storage

As with all fresh foods, nuts, seeds, and oils, they maintain their freshness and quality in a cool dry place. Heat oxidizes oil, and although it won’t make you sick in the traditional way of food poisoning, rancid oil does have a really sour taste and smell. But more importantly, oxidized oils are dangerous to your health because they oxidize the cholesterol in your body. This is true of olive oil that is stored in hot kitchens, or cooked beyond the temperature that is recommended. Keep your oils cool!

Ok to store in the fridge if your home gets pretty hot. Ok to Freeze.

Expiration Date

As with all fresh food, it’s best to consume as close to the preparation date as possible. Consume in about a month after purchase for best flavor and texture. After about 9 months your bars will begin to lose their wonderful moistness, but they are safe to consume up to 12 months or until you smell a sour smell. It depends on how hot they have become. We don’t want to create a bar that will last 2 years in your glove compartment. That’s just gross.

The good news here is our bars DO GO BAD! The problem with most of our packaged food is that it’s made to last for years. Thankfully real food goes bad and we are all about real food!
