Organic Coconut Flakes
Coconut is so good for you it’s ridiculous, there are whole websites dedicated to the health benefits. Google it and you will be busy for months!
But lets start with basic bio-chemistry.
We have trillions of cells in our bodies. The cells have a nucleus in them which for a while people thought was the “brain” of the cell. Turns out the membrane around the cell is the intelligence center. Guess what that membrane is made from? Fat! (and a tiny bit of protein). Did you know that NO tissue in the body is made up of carbohydrates?!
Now, there are lots of receptors sticking into that membrane. Some of them are for insulin. When we eat too much sugar those receptors literally turn inside towards the cell and tell our body “I am done, you can’t store any more of your sugar here, sorry”. And now we have type 2 diabetes! We are “insulin resistant”. We eat too much sugar, so we have too much insulin, and we can’t store it anywhere. Our cells are freaking out. And you know what Dr’s do if you are type 2 diabetic? They give you more insulin!!!! OMG! Instead of just telling to stop eating so much sugar. Now when I say “sugar” I also mean grains. Your body doesn’t know the difference. If it’s glucose or sucrose it gets processed the same way. Fructose is a separate issue (and important one) and if you want to learn about that specific dangers go to www.mercola.com. It does matter here but I only have so much time with you.

The average person eats 1/2lb of sugar a day. Now that average includes teenage boys who are usually drinking a lot of soda. Let’s assume you are pretty healthy, you are on our site after all and reading all this babble.
So let’s just cut that in 1/2 and say 1/4lb a day.
From the time you are 3 until age 40 you would have had 1.7 TONS of sugar pass through your body .
Did you read that right? 1.7 TONS.
So lets hope you exercise, like me, I use to be an Olympic athlete. So I didn’t gain weight with all that sugar, but at age 39, 9 years after retiring, I developed a full blown autoimmune disease. I was hypo glycemic and pre-diabetic. I Came through the system in the 1990′s and was told to eat high carb, low fat and lean proteins. So we survived on pasta, cereal, sports drinks (don’t get me started on those) and sandwiches. We were OLYMPIANS!!! Fit, cool and thought we knew it all. We had nutritionists making our menus at the Olympic Training Centers, taking us on trips to the grocery store. Looking back all I seem to remember was eat for energy, no mention of nutrition. And stay fit and trim, so no fat! The first thing that stuck me as odd was when Fat Free Oreos came on the scene. I was like, yes, this is a dream come true. B/c at this point I was a full blown carb addict. I checked out the calories and the fat free version had more than the regular Oreos. How can this be? There is no fat! Well, when you take out something you have to replace it with something right. So there was just more sugar. That white “cream” filling was nothing but processed soy and sugar. No cream in that cream. And so my trip down the rabbit hole begun!
When you eat something from nature your body bio-converts it. It happens in the liver and it sends what it needs to all over your body. So when you eat some coconut your body recognizes it. When you eat an Oreo you body goes into chaos because it has no idea what it is and what to do with it. It’s not bio-idenital in any way. Make sense?
When we eat all this sugar, and drink all this sugar, our membranes take the fat away so our cells become hardened to protect them from any more sugar getting in! So a low fat diet that is high in carbs/sugar, is literally damaging us at a cellular level!
So how does all of this relate to coconut? Coconut, thankfully, is almost all sat fat!

“Let food by thy medicine and medicine be thy food” – Hippocrates
Coconut is an:
· Anti-inflammatory
· Anti-microbial
· Anti-fungal
· Anti-viral
· Improves nutrient absorption (think of those cells as sponges rather than hardened)
Our philosophy is…. Don’t mess with nature! The oil is expeller pressed and used in it’s natural state. I eat it by the spoon full each morning. I am not in Olympic shape anymore, but I am thinner than I was and more healthy on the inside by leaps and bounds. My cells are gooey and soft and able to receive!
Don’t believe me? I don’t blame you. It sounds crazy. It’s the exact opposite of what we have been told. That’s why I went back to school and became a certified holistic nutritionist. It’s why I read and why I care about what I sell you!
Here are a ton of resources for you.
Don’t want to read? That’s ok!
